Group therapy can be awkward and rewarding all at the same time. Tandem Waves Collective understands that living life in isolation can cause us to feel like we are drowning under the current.

Participating in group therapy has many benefits, including learning evidence based skills; growing and being validated by the collective group; and it’s more affordable than individual therapy!

Self Compassion and Mindfulness

Do you find yourself showing more grace and compassion to others than you do with yourself? Can you be your own worst critic? If you notice that you can be hard on yourself, if you are feeling isolated in your suffering, or if you feel like you can often get caught up in the negative, this group is for you.

This six week therapeutic group is designed to support participants to challenge their inner critic, and explore mindful awareness of their own thoughts, emotions and experiences through self compassion exercises.

Investment for the group is $270 ($45 per session)

Are you a professional feeling overwhelmed and burnt out in a toxic work environment?  Perhaps you are in healthcare, education, food and beverage, human services, or any other sector that has increased your sense of burden and stress.  Perhaps work was already a struggle and COVID 19 has pushed your work life to the point of no return.  We want to encourage you that it is possible to come back from the burnt out through radical acceptance and being in the wise mind.

This six week therapeutic group focuses on dialectical behavioural therapy skills and strategies, along with mindfulness practice, to help participants find the middle path in their professional life and find a life more fulfilling than before.

Being Wise and Radical in the Workplace: How to Manage Emotions, Relationships and Distress

Cultivating Strength and Resiliency for Wellbeing

This therapeutic group is designed to help participants cultivate and strengthen their resiliency.  Resiliency isn’t just about experiencing negative life experiences and being able to bounce back from it.  Resilience is about cultivating internal, personal strength, to meet life's challenges.  It’s about creating and maintaining toughness so one can go through their lives with the ability to meet, address, and reflect on life’s challenges.

This six week therapeutic group will help participants learn key strategies and skills to nurture their relationships with others and themselves in order to build the foundation to move through life’s challenges with steadfast strength.

Investment for the group is $270 ($45 per session)

The past three years have challenged us as individuals and pushed us to experience overwhelming stress and anxiety.  For some, anxiety is something that continues to be a significant and ongoing challenge, feeling lost in the constant fight, flight, or freeze.  For others, anxiety and stress is situational and can feel crushing to the point of no return. Whatever your experience is, this group is designed to help participants in shifting the narrative to how stress and anxiety can be seen as a strength, preparing us in meeting life’s challenges.  

This six week therapeutic group focuses on cognitive behavioural therapy skills and strategies, along with mindfulness practice, to help participants in managing personal stress and anxiety in order to continue to strengthen their foundation to move through life’s challenges.
